Event Photography

I have been photographing gigs and concerts for over 20 years. I alternate between shooting black and white film and colour digital. If the light is right I still get a kick out of shooting film, however the colour quality of modern digital cameras in low light situations can no longer be matched by colour film. Modern LED stage lights also tend to have lower intensity than the old-fashioned ‘hot’ lights.

I will consider parties, protests, parades or dare I say, even weddings, if the chemistry is right! At these events I prefer to capture natural and authentic moments rather than elaborately staged or posed situations in ‘hero’ locations.
